Are you conscious of the environment around you? Are you trying to make an impact on the world by innovating sustainable ideas for conservation and preservation? Here’s your chance to make your voice heard and get mentored at the Young Earthpreneurs Award organised by Earth Day Network India.
Earth Day Network is a Washington-based organisation that coordinates Earth Day events across the globe on April 22.
Submit your unique ideas to the forum by January 22, 2022, and get a chance to be mentored by industry experts. After preliminary screening, finalists will have to appear for an online interactive session with the jury panel on March 22. Winners will be announced on April 22, which is celebrated as Earth Day.
Students from colleges and universities across India are eligible for the awards. Participants will be judged under four broad categories — energy efficiency, mindful use of natural resources, expansion of climate education and sustainable lifestyle products. Their ideas will be evaluated on feasibility, financial plausibility, innovation and well-defined. All ideas and video content need to be original and in English.
The winners will not only receive awards but will also be referred to incubation centres and industry mentors for further development of their idea.

The goal of the programme is to encourage budding entrepreneurs with innovative ideas in the field of environment and climate action. It’s a platform for them to present and showcase their ideas. Youth around the globe look for opportunities to share their green ideas. Through the Young Earthpreneurs Awards, we will allow these young minds to share their ideas with the world and contribute to the green economy. As more youth grow up in a world characterised by advanced technologies and information sharing, we strive to provide an opportunity for them to create innovative and sustainable environmental solutions that have the potential to be scaled up widely,” said Karuna Singh, regional director, Asia, Earth Day Network.
