The environment at Delhi Public School, Barasat was filled with excitement and vigour as the school hosted its first annual sports witnessing enthusiastic participation by students.
The two-day event commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony featuring a March Past by the students and the lighting of the lamp. This was followed by an inspiring speech by Ms Joyeeta Mazumder, Principal, DPS Barasat.

The event was graced by Professor Shabina N Omar, OSD, Education Directorate, Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, along with Ms Sunita Arora, Principal of Delhi Public School, Howrah, Mr Nikunj Saraf, Director, Delhi Public School, Barasat and Mr. Amitabh Mohan, renowned Education Counsellor and Chief Mentor of Delhi Public School, Barasat.

The audience was enthralled by the effortless performance of the students, especially from the pre-primary section, who performed with precision, grace and poise. The performances included karate drills, yoga, and aerobics among others.

The winners were recognised for their achievements by the guests while House Benevolence, i.e. the Blue House was adjudged the best house at the end of the sporting event.
The first session of annual sports at the school not only celebrated the sportsmanship among the students but also taught them valuable lessons on teamwork, discipline and perseverance.
