Reverence 2024: DPS Ruby Park Celebrates Excellence with Cultural Splendor and Sustainability

Delhi Public School Ruby Park, Kolkata, hosted its much-anticipated Reverence 2024 Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony on October 5, 2024, at the Science City Auditorium. This grand event, featuring a thousand students, commenced with an uplifting welcome song and an orchestral rendition of the Mission Impossible theme, setting the stage for a memorable celebration.

Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including Professor Malabika Sarkar, the former Vice-Chancellor of Ashoka University, and the first Vice-Chancellor of Presidency University, who served as the Chief Guest. Two eminent personalities were present as Guests of Honour: Mr Swarup Dutta, a multidisciplinary art and design expert, and a conservationist, and Mr Frantz Sidi Ami, a language expert and Cooperation Attaché from the French Consulate General in Kolkata. Their presence elevated the significance of the evening, emphasising the school’s commitment to holistic education and global cultural exchange.

The heart of the event was the Annual Play, a captivating adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. This year’s production ingeniously integrated the theme of sustainability, offering a fresh perspective on the beloved fairy tale. The narrative explored the importance of environmental conservation, the interconnectedness of all living things, and the profound consequences of human actions on the planet. The creative twist inspired students and attendees alike to embrace sustainable practices, with the play emphasizing the need to be stewards of the environment.

Over 300 students contributed to the production, from performing as actors and dancers to handling logistics, voice-overs, and playback singing. The tireless effort they invested in every detail of the show was evident in the stunning execution, which left the audience enthralled. The visual opulence, the thematic depth, and the flawless coordination were a testament to the students' dedication and the school's commitment to fostering creativity alongside education.

As the event concluded, the atmosphere was one of celebration and pride, as students were awarded for their achievements in academics and co-curricular pursuits.
