Delhi Public School Ruby Park, Kolkata in association with its Quiz Club organised Quizzinius 5.0 -The Battle of The Erudites on the 22nd and 23rd of November 2024. The spread of 8 mind bending and nerve racking quizzes, spanning 2 days, was indeed a celebration of wits, wisdom and quizzing acumen where budding quizzers from 12 schools all across Kolkata took part in a bid to prove their mettle.
The first day mostly saw the preliminary rounds and finals of four quizzes. In the highly anticipated Junior School General Quiz finals,the young Turks from Modern High School emerged victorious. The Sports and Environment Quiz finals lived up to its reputation as being one of the most anticipated events of the day 1 and Garden High School earned the bragging rights as champions.
The Senior Globetrotter quiz, came alive with the electrifying presence of the quiz guru Mr Rajib Sanyal and after an exhilarating session of intense quizzing the boys from Birla High School bagged the top honours, while in the Pop Culture and Fandom Quiz, DPS Newtown ,represented by Sukrit Ghosh and Shirsha Sengupta, showcased their quizzing prowess to claim victory thereby bringing an end to an eventful day.
Day 2 started off with yet another set of preliminary rounds. The finals of the much-awaited Indian Heritage quiz were conducted by Mr. Somnath Chanda who left the quizzers and audience dazzled Delhi Public School Megacity emerged as the victors in this segment.
Delhi Public School Newtown bagged the champions’ title for the Senior General Quiz while the host school fended off a stiff competition and showcased pure class and refined intellect to crack the mystery of the Mystery Box Quiz. Finally, Quizzinius Ultima was a battle among all the podium finishers.
Participants gave whatever it took and after a rather gruelling round Sayudh Ray from DPS Newtown and Srideep Bhadra from the host school DPS Ruby Park emerged undefeated.
The event came to a fitting close with the prize distribution ceremony where Delhi Public School Newtown, were adjudged overall winners closely followed by the home team DPS Ruby Park as the runners up. Quizzinius 5.0 certainly marked a triumphant celebration of knowledge ,intellectual discovery, and a quest for quizzing glory.
The resounding success of this edition has paved the way for an even brighter future of quizzing excellence.
