EIILM Kolkata organised its most-awaited academic-cultural event of the year, the fourth edition of Apavrinu Vayam (Let's fly high together) on Thursday, December 19 at Taal Kutir, Ecopark, Kolkata. Over 2,000 students from the institute participated in the event which hosted the melodious Palak Mucchal and Palash Mucchal along with several other celebrities from the Tollywood film industry.

The event kicked off with the lighting of the lamp by Prof (Dr) R P Banerjee, Chairman and Director of EIILM-Kolkata in the presence of Guests of Honour Debasish Kumar, MMIC, Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Sandeep Kumar, Managing Director of Tata Steel Downstream Products Limited, Joydeep Roy, MD-Human Resources, PwC India, Arijit Basu, MD Veedol Corporation, Kunal Bose, Regional Financial Controller- Asia Pacific, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Prof (Dr) RK Chauhan, Former Secretary, UGC among others.
"Through this Academic-cultural event, EIILM-Kolkata is fostering the students' academic potential on one hand and giving wings to their cultural acumen on the other," said Prof (Dr) R P Banerjee, Chairman and Director of EIILM-Kolkata.

In his speech, Prof (Dr) R P Banerjee highlighted the importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the upcoming years and talked about the scope and opportunities the students will have in building a career with the help of AI.
"There is a fear that a lot of jobs will be lost with the advent of Artificial Intelligence. However, this is not true. With the advent of AI, the scope of jobs is not going to get reduced. It will multiply jobs by many times. This requires adequate skilling of the workforce and the students who are going to enter the workforce within the next few years. India is at the top in upskilling its workforce and creating more facilities for the youth. This will make them industry-ready in the coming years," he said to The Telegraph Online Edugraph.

Prof (Dr) RK Chauhan, Former Secretary, UGC, while speaking to The Telegraph Online Edugraph applauded the efforts by EIILM-Kolkata in undertaking such a large-scale event which not only addresses the academic potential of the students but also their cultural prowess and value system.
"These types of events are being conducted at nearly all educational institutes across the country. However, EIILM-Kolkata's Apavrinu Vayam is very different. At this event, students are showcasing their academic talent and cultural acumen on a large scale. The students are engaging in various activities that are very important for the overall development of the human mind and body," he said.

At Apavrinu Vayam 4, the undergraduate and postgraduate students of EIILM-Kolkata made an academic presentation on 'Atmano Mokshartham Jagat Hitya cha' (For the salvation of our individual self and for the well-being of all on the Earth) where various aspects of the human development and steps to make the world a better place to live in were discussed.
This was followed by a dance and musical performance by the students of the institute as the audience cheered for their friends and danced to the tunes of music.

The second half of the day witnessed engaging performances by Nonichora Das Baul and the presentation of the Bank of Baroda Achiever's Award to the Young Achievers of EIILM-Kolkata in the presence of Abir Chatterjee, renowned tollywood artist.
In the evening, celebrity singers from Bollywood, Palak Muchhal and Palash Muchhal set the stage on fire with their melodious numbers as the audience tapped their feet and shook their heads to the music.

Finally, Apavrinu Vayam 4 concluded with the students grooving to a performance by DJ Nilashree and taking back with them endless memories to cherish for a lifetime.
