Delhi Public School, Ranchi, on Saturday, October 14, played host to a Regional Principals’ Conference by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The conference was aimed at empowering school principals and sharing with them several important points on the National Education Policy, 2020.
The attendees were provided a comprehensive information on the goals and principles of the new education policy followed by discussions on the implications of NEP 2020 for teachers, schools and students. Several insights were shared with the principals on aligning teaching practices at schools with NEP 2020 principles while providing them a thorough understanding of the NEP 2020 policies.
The occasion was graced by several important dignitaries, including Ravi Kumar, the Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy of Jharkhand Government. He was the chief guest for the occasion. Several other high-level board officials, including Dr. Pragya M. Singh, Director of Academic Assessment of CBSE; Anjali Chhabra, Joint Secretary of Academic Assessment; Al Hilal Ahmad, Joint Secretary of Academics; also attended the conference.
Speaking on the occasion, Kumar said that the new education policy can bring positive changes to the country's education system and also fulfill the vision of a bright future for the students.
Several recommendations made by prominent educators for the implementation of NEP 2020 was shared by the speakers who also highlighted the efforts of the schools towards the implementation of multilingualism; an overview of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), 2023; the training initiative of the Jharkhand state; the importance of the CBSE training policy and efforts made by CBSE for implementation of skill education; among other important topics.
“The CBSE Principal’s Conference is an important platform for understanding the key initiatives of India's new education policy. The main objective of this conference is to enhance the overall development of students, improve assessment methods, and introduce positive changes in the education system by adopting technology for a brighter future,” said Kiran Kumar Pasi, State Project Director, Jharkhand Education Project Council.
Praising the new education policy undertaken by the central government, she also said that the policy has brought about positive changes in the Indian education system as it familiarises students with various languages and arts, allowing them to choose their career according to their interests.
