IQAC and IIC of Camellia School of Engineering & Technology (CSET), Barasat in association with Wegrow organised One-Day National Seminar on "Impact of Innovation & IPR - 2024" at the seminar hall of CSET college campus on 9 September, 2024 from 11:30 AM onwards where 50+ academicians from different Group colleges of Camellia Group participated.

Prof. (Dr.) Tirthankar Datta, GCEO (Academic Development), Mr. Partha Pal, Group Director, other Directors and Principals of Camellia Group colleges, Mr. Raju Chhetri (Registrar), Prof. Santanu Debnath, Mr. Souradip Roy and others of CSET and other Group Colleges were present in the Inaugural Lamp Lighting Ceremony.

Speaking as the chief guest in the inaugural session, Professor Bala Lakhendra of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) elaborated on the importance of patent and intellectual property rights. He said “it is the high time for a faculty member and researcher to do a focused research study and come forward to patent their work. Basically through Intellectual Property Rights a researcher is able to protect his research work and also help the society and the institution to grow.” He appreciated the efforts of Camellia group of Institutions for their initiative to involve the faculty members and researchers in Intellectual Property Right awareness programmes and inspiring them for the Patent works.

He motivated the faculty fraternity to be involved in quality research to file various forms of IPR viz. Patents, Copyright, Trademark etc.

Dr. Prabir Mukhopadhyay, Ex-GM, West Bengal Financial Corporation, Govt. West Bengal said, “Today’s discussion was very much necessary for creating awareness and interest among faculties. It would empower them to motivate and mentor the budding entrepreneurs in their arduous journey of entrepreneurship.”

Prof. (Dr.) Tirthankar Datta, GCEO (Academic Development) said, "These types of events will be organised in Camellia Group of Institutions in a regular manner and in turn all the stakeholders will be immensely benefited".
