This year’s debate, celebrating its Silver Jubilee, spanned two intellectually stimulating days, inviting past winning students from eight renowned Kolkata schools to compete in a rigorous battle of wits. Birla High School

The participating schools included Shri Shikshayatan School, Mahadevi Birla World Academy, St Xavier's Collegiate School, La Martiniere for Boys, Loreto House, DPS Ruby Park, Sushila Birla Girls' School, and Birla High School.
Dr Kunal Sarkar chaired the first session, lending his expertise to the proceedings. Students showcased exceptional debating skills, engaging in thought-provoking arguments and counterarguments.

The event was graced by a distinguished panel whose critical evaluations upheld the highest standards of debating, providing valuable feedback to the participants. Birla High School
The event was graced by Mr Atri Bhattacharya (IAS) as the Chief Guest, who delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of debate in nurturing future leaders. Mr Juan Clar, Public Diplomacy Officer at the US Consulate General in Kolkata, served as the Guest of Honour, adding an international dimension to the event. The debate was judged by a distinguished panel, including Prof Shabina Nishat Omar, Dr Kausik Ghosh, Ms Supriya Newar, and Mr Ateesh Tankha. Their critical evaluations upheld the highest standards of debating, providing valuable feedback to the participants.
The Grand Finale
The second day witnessed the Grand Finale, where past winners from Birla High School faced off against members of the Calcutta Debating Circle. The motion for this exhibition debate was "This House Believes That: The generation gap is glaringly evident today more than ever before." Mr Raju Raman chaired the session, which showcased exceptional oratory skills and profound insights from both sides, making it an intellectually enriching experience.
