Smt Soma Mitra Mukherjee, Assistant Director General and Head of Projects at the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended as Chief Guest. She highlighted the importance of adaptability and interaction for business sustainability. Also gracing the event as Guest of Honour was Sir Soumya Sarkar, Professor at XIMB Bhubaneswar, with jury members including successful entrepreneur Smt Apeksha Lahiri of Yellow Turtle, Sri Saibal Sengupta, Director of Seacom Marine College, and TEDx speaker Sri Harshit Chokhani, COO of Anandpushp Pvt Ltd.

The stage then saw a series of impressive presentations, each offering novel solutions to real-world challenges. Notable ideas included Eco Placs and Bio Crysts by Ruby Park Public School, a sustainable packaging solution; PixeTee from Birla High School, which specializes in eco-friendly, customizable T-shirts; and Quick Care by Delhi Public School Ruby Park, focusing on menstrual hygiene through vending machine for high-quality sanitary pads.

Community health care was a popular theme, with La Martiniere for Boys showcasing ‘Nano Med’, an AI-powered medicine dispenser aimed at bridging healthcare gaps. Jyotirmoy Public School introduced ‘BALANCE (SLAY The Way You Are)’, targeting the holistic development of children, while Apeejay School presented ‘Mood Sensor’ wearable bracelets for mood tracking. Other highlights included lifestyle innovations like Antique Soul Autos by Indus Valley World School and ‘Scrap Cycle’ from Bhavan’s Gangabux Kanoria Vidyamandir, offering sustainable recycling solutions.

The event concluded with an exciting Prize Distribution Ceremony, where Principal Ms Madhumita Sengupta praised the participants’ creativity. La Martiniere for Boys was crowned the winner, with BDM International as the First Runner Up and Indus Valley World School as the Second Runner Up.

Velocity 2024 was a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit of young students, inspiring all to think innovatively for a sustainable future.
