The students had the privilege to interact with Parthapratim Deb, a veteran theatre artist, playwright, director, musician and educator who has made significant contributions to the Indian theatre
The workshop included activities such as- Formation of a circle in the beginning followed by an introduction and Memory game, a simple yet powerful activity to note the basics, whether the students will be able to remember each other’s name or not!

The Drama and art form lovers from BDM International participated in a theatre workshop with Baghajatin Alaap (An International Centre of Excellence in Performing Art and Education Centre) on August 10, 2024 and explored the magic of theatrical art.

The students had the privilege to interact with Parthapratim Deb, a veteran theatre artist, playwright, director, musician and educator who has made significant contributions to the Indian theatre and has been associated with renowned theatre organisations like Nandikar and Baghajatin Alaap.

The students also got introduced to Rup Deb, a talented actor, playback singer, and dancer, with a passion for storytelling through various mediums.

The young drama enthusiasts were enlightened about theories of Situational Learning- given imaginary scenarios of getting stranded on an island; a school tour; heavy rains with no food or water and were encouraged to enact without the use of dialogues or rather Act-It-Out!

Students at the workshop also benefited from participating in group activities such as Dialogue-Exchange-Game that required role-play for 2 minutes in a given situation. The eventful session concluded with Wheel Dance (Follow-the-Leader) to create an all inclusive environment for the young B.D.M.Ians creating a creative and emotional outlet for the students, helping them manage stress and anxiety.

The theatre workshop served as a powerful educational tool that significantly contributed to the student's personal, social, and academic development which in turn served as a lasting connection to the world of performance and storytelling.
