Bakery to jewellery, youthpreneurs sold creative products at a pop-up in Kolkata

Youngsters flocked to Fleakar Ba-Dastoor, a pop-up hosted by The Art Cart at Shunyaa, a store at Hindusthan Park, Kolkata, on May 21 and 22. “We have a huge number of young entrepreneurs participating in pop-ups. We have also worked with young influencers to reach out to a big crowd,” said Sanwayee Datta, co-founder, The Art Cart.

Rudrani Bhattacharya, a Class XII student of Patha Bhavan, sold handmade jewellery under the brand name Shakti. “I used to make jewellery for myself and then started selling them. My crystal bracelets are the most popular,” said Rudrani, who started Shakti in 2020. Source: Subhadrika Sen

Sweta Chatterjee’s Irenic displayed a variety of earrings, pendants and scrunchies. “I mainly work with clay. Apart from jewellery, I make phone charms, paper clips, and scrunchies. I started Irenic last year. The pandemic made people shop online, which helped start-ups like mine,” said the second-year English student of Serampore College.
