Ashok Hall School's Sports Day event was held at the Rabindra Sarovar Stadium, with a plethora of exciting activities and competitions that showcased the school's commitment to inclusive and holistic education.
The day began with a spectacular display of dances, drills and races like Clown Race, Happy Catch Corner etc. by junior school students, accompanied by an obstacle race that tested their agility and teamwork. The alumni of Ashok Hall School also participated in a special event, highlighting the strong bond between the school and its former students. Parents were not left out of the fun, with fathers participating in a hilarious lemon and spoon race, while mothers showcased their balancing skills in the clay pot balancing competition. Junior school parents also engaged in a thrilling tug of war, demonstrating their teamwork and spirit.
Middle school students competed in a series of fun events, including the hula hoop race, three-legged race, and sack race. Senior school students, on the other hand, participated in more intense competitions, such as the tug of war, 100m run, and relay race.
In a heartwarming display of inclusivity, Ashok Hall School invited an NGO working with children from red light areas to participate in the event. This initiative promoted breaking barriers, social inclusion, and empowerment through sports. By providing a platform for these children to engage in sports, the school aimed to foster a sense of oneness and equality. The chief guest, Shri Aloke Mukherjee, a legendary footballer and renowned coach, inspired the students with his presence and words of encouragement.
In her address, Principal Ma'am emphasized the importance of sports in an individual's life and in school life as well. She highlighted how sports help in developing discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, which are essential life skills. She also encouraged the students to participate in sports and extracurricular activities, not just to win medals, but to develop their overall personality and character.
The day ended with Vice Principal (Junior Section) Ma'am Chattoraj delivering a short speech thanking everyone for their unstinted support in making this day a huge success.
