The Army Institute of Management, Kolkata has signed a MoU with Alliance Francaise du Bangale, a French Non-Profit educational and cultural institution. The MoU will enable the students of Army Institute of Management, Kolkata to have the opportunity to learn French as a foreign language. This according to the institution, will enhance their employability apart from opening a new window to another way of life.
Apart from this, both the institutions shall also conduct joint cultural and academic activities to enrich the interested community in New Town, Kolkata.
The MoU was signed by Maj Gen (Retd) V S Ranade, the director of Army Institute of Management, Kolkata and Nicolas Facino, the director of Alliance Francaise du Bengale.
16 students from the institute have recently completed beginner course in French language and Alliance Francaise will soon be beginning the next batch.

With the relationship growing between the two institutes, the Alliance Francaise selected Army Institute of Management for the Wall Art festival. Two artists from France were invited to the institute, and they created a wall art at the campus.
“Last year we signed an MoU for one year and offered French course to our students. Now this year we signed a five-year MoU with Alliance Francaise. Both the institutes will take part in various cultural and academic activities together in future,” said Abhishek Kumar, the Principal of Army Institute of Management.
He said that as part of the growing relationship between the two institutes, a French film festival will be held in the campus of Army Institute of Management in November and it will be open to not only the students of the institute, but also to the residents of New Town.
The institute has also signed an MoU with Calcutta based logistics company called Procam logistics and has established a centre of excellence in supply chain management. In another MoU, signed with Sarsuna College, Behala, on the understanding of Geopolitics and its implications in Management studies.
