The environment at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre was filled with fervour, gaiety and an air of accomplishment as Amity University, Kolkata celebrated its 5th Covocation for the class of 2023 on February 20. The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries from academia and industries, alongside thousands of graduating students and their proud parents.

A total of 1987 students were conferred degrees, along with 125 academic awards and medals, and 42 non-academic awards. Two honorary doctorates were awarded to Amit Sharma, MD & CEO, Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd and Aditya Vardhan Agarwal, Director of Emami Group, who congratulated the graduates and wished them the very best for their future.

Expressing his happiness over the achievents of the university, Dr Atul Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity University, Kolkata underlined the global presence of Amity with 11 universities and 28 schools across the country, 17 overseas campuses and over 2 lakh students.

Referring to the visionary leadership of Dr Ashok Chauhan, founder of Amity Universe, he stated that Amitians not only acquire high-quality education but are also imbibed with human values and sanskars which help them mould into responsible world citizens.

Senior Vice President Mr U. Ramachandran praised the Amitians for their exceptional qualities and assured everyone that Amity will always be their home. He also asked everyone to remember the sacrifices made by parents and the contribution of educators.
Vice-Chancellor (Prof) Dr Sanjay Kumar highlighted the pioneering achievements of Amity University Kolkata and said that it is a once-in-a-lifetime event in one's academic endeavour, where all eyes are on the student when he/she finally gets a degree after years of hard work and academic rigour.
