Amity University Kolkata celebrated its 4th Convocation for the class of 2022 at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre on 16th March 2023 with fervour and gaiety. The grand finale witnessed the gracious presence of many dignitaries from academia and the industry, as well as thousands of graduating students and parents. Keeping up the traditions of the University, the Convocation commenced with a “Havan ceremony” seeking blessings from the Almighty for the wellbeing of each Amitian.
A total of 1806 graduands were conferred degrees and 129 academic Awards and Medals, and 70 non-academic awards were given. Besides this, two prestigious Honorary Doctorates were conferred upon Dr Ramji Singh, Executive Director AIIMS, Kalyani and Dr Arun Pattatheyil, Director Tata Research Center, Kolkata. Dr Ramji Singh congratulated the new graduates who, by their hard work and perseverance, have achieved culmination in their academic pursuits and asked them to make the best use of their knowledge and be successful in their professional endeavours. He also said that AIIMS, Kalyani is ready to sign MOUs with Amity for joint research and innovations. Thereafter Dr Arun Pattatheyil addressed the gathering and said that Amity is one of the most prestigious groups in the country and is well known for imparting quality education in all the verticals of academics. He added that the University has made tremendous growth in the field of research and applied sciences.

Expressing his extreme pleasure on the occasion, Dr Atul Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity University Kolkata, stated in his powerful speech that we are highly fortunate to live in the contemporary times of ongoing innovation and research. Amity University is standing tall on the global map by having 11 Universities and 28 schools in India, 17 overseas campuses and over 2 lakhs brilliant students studying across various campuses. He said under the visionary leadership of Dr Ashok Chauhan, founder of Amity, who has completed his glorious 29 years of education and hosted 6000 qualified and talented faculties. He said Amitians not only impart quality education but also imbibed with human values and Sanskars.
Mr. U. Ramachandran, Senior Vice President, said that Amitians are extraordinary and reminded them that this is the fruit of their hard work while reminiscing this journey, everyone must remember the sacrifices made by the parents and the contribution of the teachers. Lastly, he wished every student good wishes and assured everyone that Amity is and will always be their home.
Highlighting the pioneering accomplishments of Amity University Kolkata, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Sanjay Kumar said that this is a lifetime event in one’s academic pursuit where all eyes alight upon you when you finally receive degrees after years of academic rigours. In his mesmerising speech, he said that Amity graduates have undergone academic rigours, and they have been embedded with the flavour of research, innovation, values and sanskars. Now as the responsible citizens of the country, they will make a significant contribution to the industries and corporates and seamlessly fit into the role of entrepreneurs and bring laurels for society and nation to make India Self-Reliant.
Dr Ashok K Srivastava, Pro Vice-Chancellor greeted the students and admired their hard work for their brilliant performance.
At the end of the Convocation, the jubilant students threw their caps in the air, congratulated each other while thanking their Gurus, and parents and showed their commitment to their Alma-mater by shouting the slogan " Three Cheers to Amity".
