A high-level delegation from Moscow State Institute of International Relations – The University of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MGIMO University Russia, visited Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus, to discuss the potential areas of academic and research collaboration.
The delegation comprised Dr Stanislav Surovtsev, Vice-Rector for Students’ Development and International Relations, Dr. Igor Putintsev, Vice-Rector for Language and Pre-University Training, Ms. Ekaterina Suvalova, Head of Department of International Cooperation and Mr. Mikhail Antsiferov, Attache, Embassy of Russia in India.

Highlighting the various areas of collaboration between Amity and MGIMO University, Dr. Stanislav Surovtsev, Vice-Rector for Students’ Development and International Relations, asserted, “MGIMO University was established in 1944 and today it has evolved from a school to a full-fledged University, offering more than one hundred Degree Programs in 17 domains. We look forward to collaborating with Amity through various programs and initiatives and are certain that this will be a mutually beneficial association for both institutions. Hindi and Bengali languages are taught at MGIMO University, which fosters people-to-people cooperation. Several other joint endeavours and initiatives will go a long way in strengthening the ties between the two Universities.’’

Welcoming the guests on this occasion, Dr Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, averred, “Amity University has fostered and strengthened ties with educational institutions of repute from across the world. The University would like to explore the potential areas of collaboration with MGIMO University in the field of Student Exchange Programmes, Summer School Programs, India Immersion Programmes, Faculty Exchange Programmes and Dual Degree Programmes. Societal problems and challenges can be addressed through mutual cooperation and by learning from each other, therefore, adopting an interdisciplinary approach and new pedagogies from different parts of the world is essential for widening the scope and expanding the horizons of educational institutions.”
Presenting an overview of the Amity Education Group, Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor of Amity Universities, stated, “At Amity, Russian language courses are being offered to the students wherein a huge number of students have enrolled. Online language programmes can also be introduced, wherein students of both Universities can learn Hindi and Russian languages. Other areas of collaboration which can be explored include offering internship programmes to Russian students to propel cross-cultural values and diversity, capacity building, creating joint research centres and participation in international research conferences and symposiums, whereby small steps will lead to strong strategic ties between the two institutions.”
The visit concluded with the felicitation of guests and the Programme was attended by the HOIs and Senior Faculty members of Amity, who interacted with the delegation and shared their views.
