Amity Law School, Noida will be organising its 5th International Conference on Comparative Law in collaboration with Scholl of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University, Australia. The two-day conference will be held from February 9-10 and will consist of six themes, namely Modalities of Comparative Law, Comparative Constitutional Law, Comparative Criminal Law and Human Rights, Comparative IPR, Technology Law and Emerging Legal Domains and Comparative Business Law, Comparative Family Law.
The conference will be inaugurated by Justice (Retd) Dipak Mishra, former Chief Justice of India, who will be present on the occasion as chief guest. Other esteemed guests include Mrs. Cecilia Inés Silberberg, Embassy Counselor and Consul Argentina Embassy, Prof (Dr) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur, Justice John Alexander Logan, Judge, Federal Court of Australia, and Ritu Raj Awasthi, Chairperson, Law Commission of India.
“A comparative study is the quintessence of municipal law development. Adopting a comparative approach helps to delve deeper into one’s legal system to assess and appreciate the similarities and divergences amongst legislations, legal institutions, political framework, social ideologies, policies and rules in corresponding jurisdictions. It allows legal professionals, learned members of the academia, erudite research scholars and students to explore, assess and compare the legal order of any two or more countries deemed suitable to them,” said Dr DK Bandopadhyay, Chairman of Amity Law School, highlighting the significance of the conference.
A Conference Abstract Book will be released during the inaugural session of the conference and the jury will be selecting the best article from each session for special recognition during the Valedictory Ceremony on the final day.
The valedictory ceremony will be attended by R Venkatramani, Attorney General of India, who will be the Chief Guest on the occasion. Other guests include, Mr. N Venkataraman, Additional Solicitor General of India, Hon’ble Shadrack J Mose, Solicitor General of Republic of Kenya, Mr. Alfred Tuah-Yeboah, Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Ghana, and Hon’ble Ms. Najat Abou Chacra, Investigative Judge, Military Court, Beirut, Lebanon.
