School of Media and Communication, Admas University, is organising an international conference on Media and Communication Research: Contribution towards Sustainable Development Goals on January 29 to 30, 2024. Sustainable communication evokes the practice of promoting and maintaining communication processes to minimize negative environmental and social impacts while also aiming at maximizing positive outcomes. The aim of this conference is to address the growing concern for environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical considerations in the field of media and communication.

The conference shall explore the contribution and scope of Media and Communication Research in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also offers an opportunity for discussions and debates around different SDGs and their connection with Media and Communication, as well as the prospects, challenges, and future potential in research and development in the domain. The themes of the conference are divided into two distinct categories, ‘core themes’ like: Sustainable Communication, Sustainable Journalism, Eco-friendly Technologies, Green Practices in Media Production, Responsible Advertising and Marketing, Inclusive and Diverse Communication, Advocacy for Social and Environmental Causes, Collaboration and Transparency, Digital Literacy and Responsible Usage, Sustainable Technologies, Green Marketing, Social Media Activism, SDG, Developmental Communication, and Health Communication, along with the ‘alternative themes,’ connecting media and communication with multiple other disciplines.

Eminent media personalities like Prof. K. G. Suresh, Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, Bhopal; Prof. Siddhartha Das, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur; Prof. Anna Keszeg, MOME Budapest, Hungary, Prof. A. B. M. Rahmatullah, American International University, Bangladesh, along with many others, will grace the occasion and discuss the role of media and communication research contributing towards sustainable development goals. There will be presenters and participants from the national and international arena who will bring in their revolutionary research aiming at different areas of sustainable development. The conference will be convened by Sayak Pal, Noveena Chakraborty, Dr. Sharmila Kayal and the conference secretary Dr. Akash Deep Muni.
