We couldn’t believe it when our teachers told us that we wouldn’t be having a Children’s Day celebration this year! However, we had to guess it, they of course had something up their sleeves for us! On 24th November, teachers of Delhi Public School Newtown, put together a wonderful programme for all the students. It started with a poem during which teachers gave each student a memory to hold on to as they talked about each section and some antics of those classes which made them children!. It was followed by a medley of songs, during which the children clapped their hands to the beat and sung along . All the events were incorporated in a skit. The skit was about King Akbar’s court where he demanded to have more fun, frolic and no work after having experienced the immense joy from his court performances!

Salim and Birbal, who proved to be the crowd’s favourites, fought for her approval. It was a riot of hilarity. The programme ended with dance performances by our beloved teachers . The last dance with a touch of comedy made the students laugh their hearts out! Our principal ma’am, Mrs Sonali Sen along with our vice principal, Mrs Ambica Mehra were also present and concluded the joyous event with a few words of encouragement.
