Shri. Gulab Chand Kataria, Honourable Governor of Assam visited The Assam Royal Global University on the 10th of May, 2023. Greeted with a Pat Gamusa, the Honourable Governor was then shown and elaborated on the miniature replica of Royal Knowledge Park by the Chancellor of the varsity, Dr. A.K. Pansari and the Pro Chancellor Shri. A.K. Modi.

The interactive session with the Visitor of the University, the Honourable Governor of Assam, began with a performance by the students on ‘Ganesh Vandana’. Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Singh delivered the Welcome Address highlighting Royal Global University’s parameters in and flexible academic curriculum which encourages interdisciplinary education and threw light on various USR activities being taken up by the varsity, like Royal Anna Seva which delivers 101 food packets every day to the deprived and marginalised section of the society, Royal Swasth Seva- which provides free of cost health care to the needy, Royal Vastra Seva which distributes clean and usable clothes to these sections of society. He further highlighted Royal Global University’s initiative to ensure the latest educational values in its students while they are simultaneously encouraged to stay rooted to their culture and ethnicity by implementing ‘Ethnic Dress Day’ on the last Friday of every month, apart from throwing light on the recent as well as upcoming events of the varsity.

The Honourable Governor was then felicitated with a fresh flower bouquet, an Eri Shawl, a memento of the university, a painting done by a student of the university, and an exclusive gift by the Chancellor. Royalties then performed a traditional Manipuri dance followed by Bihu dance in honour of the guest.

Shri. Gulab Chand Kataria, Honourable Governor of Assam then addressed the gathering, appreciating the efforts of the Chancellor and the Pro Chancellor for establishing an institution par excellence like Royal Knowledge Park as a contribution and service to society. He also appreciated the efforts of Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Singh, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. M.K. Chaudhuri, the Advisor of the varsity, reminding the audience that teachers are recognized and respected as such not only because of their academic abilities but also because of their ability to instil humanitarian values in their students. He urged the audience to strive and adopt a simplistic approach to life, inculcating an attitude of respecting everyone from within and making progressive and positive thought along with service to the society a way of life.

Acknowledging that everyone is skilled irrespective of their differences, he reminded the educators that honing their students’ abilities in fields chosen by the latter themselves was their duty and it is the educators who can establish the thought process of scientific, political and industrial growth of our great nation, thereby addressing the gravest issue India faces currently-that of joblessness. He urged them to create confidence in the students to not only be capable of earning their own livelihoods but should also be moulded in a way that they can generate livelihood for others. He further threw light on the importance of judicious use of time focusing on the necessity of educational institutions to create human being that want to generate a progressive society.

Shri. Gulab Chand Kataria, Honourable Governor of Assam, wound up his address at The Assam Royal Global University by sharing his pearls of wisdom that “it is only animals that live for themselves, humans should strive to reform and serve the society”.

The end of the interactive session was marked by a scrumptious lunch laid out for the Honourable Governor of Assam.
