Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology’s official cultural club Yuva presents Advaya 2023, in association with The Telegraph, was a one-day cultural extravaganza held recently at the Jai Hind Auditorium. The annual fest of the college was held under the supervision of the cultural programme coordination committee along with the esteemed faculty of the institution. Resuming this year for the first time since the pandemic, this inter-college fest was all about celebrating traditions and young artistic talent. Along with the performances of the college students, the presence of popular guest performers added grandeur to the event.

The event started with dance performances by various colleges, highlighting the diversity in our traditional dance forms. It was followed by a performance by the band Lakkhichhara that entertained the audience with their tunes. A plethora of other events also unfolded during the day, including painting the canvas, street play and the battle of bands. Events like Sur Sangram, Footloose, Aaina, Paint Shot and One Mic-Stand witnessed a huge number of participants from different universities and colleges. The different events allowed the youth from different colleges to unleash their talent and explore their potential in the competitive and friendly ambience of the fest. One of the most talked-about events of Advaya 2023 was Navyata, the fashion show where students from multiple city colleges participated, like NSHM Knowledge Campus, Asutosh College and Sivanath Sastri College.

The ultimate attraction of the fest was the enigmatic performance of Snigdhajit Bhowmik with his beautiful tunes. Apart from uniting students from different institutions, Advaya was a platform for students to showcase their talents in different arenas. From the colourful costumes to the lively beats, the event was an unforgettable experience for all those who attended.

“We are thrilled to have such a diverse range of artistes performing at our festival. Our aim is to provide a platform for our students to showcase their talents and also bring some of the best artistes to our campus. We hope that this festival will not only entertain but also inspire our students to pursue their passions,” said Tirthankar Datta, principal of the institution. Snapshots.
