Consistency counts
Talent alone is not a guarantee of sustained success. In contrast, consistent hard work can lead to continuous improvement and adaptability, ensuring relevance and success across different stages of life or career. Also, hard work earns respect from peers, mentors and colleagues.

Will power
Famous personalities such as APJ Abdul Kalam and Cristiano Ronaldo among many others, have proved that talent without hard work is like a classic car without wheels. So keep working hard as “I will” is 100 times more important than “IQ”.

Of no use
“Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.” Hard work is more important as talent will only carry one so far. If one is not willing to put in the work to cultivate one’s talent, the talent itself becomes essentially useless.

Effort required
Hard work is necessary to achieve goals. Even a talented person will not be able to achieve full potential unless he or she puts in the effort.

Talent rules
Between hard work and talent, it is of course talent that is more important. A rickshaw puller works very hard yet making both ends meet becomes a challenge. On the other hand, a fellow with a knack of doing things skilfully will go far in life. One can always utilise talents anywhere in the world whereas hard work may, or may not, yield the desired result. Talent plus hard work does make a fantastic combination but it is talent that scores more.

Inherent trait
Talent is an inherent characteristic that can’t be acquired through hard work alone. Therefore, talent is more important.
