West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal’s first round of document verification for undergraduate courses in West Bengal's colleges has commenced and will continue until August 6. Students must physically present their documents for verification within this period; otherwise, their admission may be cancelled at the discretion of the college principal. The State Higher Education Department emphasises the crucial role of college principals in this process, stating that failure to complete document verification within the given timeframe will result in the automatic cancellation of admissions.

A significant 403,034 students have already completed their registration for undergraduate courses through the central portal.

In preparation for this process, 3,000 'Shiksha Bandhus' (Education Friends) have been reaching out to higher secondary graduates. The department has also communicated with over four lakh students via WhatsApp and SMS to inform them about the new verification procedures.

For students who do not participate in the physical document verification, their admissions will be automatically cancelled by the college principals through the central portal. Principals must provide a clear explanation for any admission cancellations. Additionally, colleges are required to issue a 'Cancellation Certificate' to ensure that students can easily get a refund of their registration fees. The same certificate will be provided to students who wish to withdraw their registration voluntarily.
