The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has officially announced the much awaited results for the Uccha Madhyamik (Class 12) exams today, May 8. A press conference was held at 1PM. Students can check their scores online once they are available on the official websites wb.gov.in and wbresults.nic.in 3PM onwards.
The class 12 examinations for 2024 were officially conducted from February 16 to February 29, 2024. This year, a total of 7,55,324 students appeared for the exam across multiple centres statewide, in which 6,79,784 students cleared them. The higher secondary exams this year witnessed 91,838 female students more than male students, at the rate of 56% female students and 44% male students.
This year the overall pass percentage is approximately 90% (89.998%), with Avik Das emerging as the topper with 496 marks (99.2%).
There are 58 candidates in the top 10 scorer list, with 13 candidates from Hooghly, 9 candidates from Bankura and 7 candidates from 24 Parganas (South), 5 candidates from Kolkata, and 4 candidates each from Purba Burdwan and Purba Mednipur, respectively.
The results have been published within 69 days of the last date of examination.

Alternative Ways to Check Result
Starting from May 10 at 10 AM, hard copies of the mark sheets and pass certificates will be distributed across 55 distribution centres, including four regional offices of the Council throughout West Bengal. School heads and teacher-in-charges are advised to ensure that these documents are handed out to their respective students on the same day.
The special online portal for Post Publication Scrutiny and Post Publication Review applications will be activated on May 10, offering students the opportunity to request re-evaluation if they believe there has been a discrepancy in their scores. This Tatkal service will be available from May 10 through May 13, midnight and the revised results will be issued within 7 days from the date of application of review.
