The University of Sheffield, UK is inviting applications for an MSc course in Biodiversity and Conservation for the September 2022 academic session. 

 

The year-long Masters programme aims to develop an understanding of how environmental change impacts biodiversity and how the effective management of ecosystems can positively impact both biodiversity and the ecosystem itself.

The course will impart fundamental knowledge regarding major conservation issues and their human and environmental drivers, including marine plastics, urbanisation, tropical logging and the balance between sustainable food production and biodiversity.

 

Eligibility and course particulars:

 Any candidate holding a three-year bachelor degree with a minimum of 60% or a ‘first class’ from a reputable university in biological sciences or other relevant science subjects is eligible to apply for the course.

 

Candidates will be  conducting their own Independent Research Project(IRP), spending three months researching an area of biodiversity or conservation that matches their future career aspirations. 

 

With first-hand experience of global conservation issues across animal and plant biodiversity, candidates are well equipped to pursue a range of career opportunities in policy making, research and academia, implementing positive change in this area.

 

The annual fee for the overseas course is GBP 28,500. The fee for domestic students is GBP 13,000.

 

The cost of all core fieldwork and practical project work is included in the tuition fees of the candidate and covers both one-day field trips, compulsory field courses as well as obligatory safety equipment.
