In a recent notification, the Ministry of Education (MoE) announced that UNESCO is actively seeking qualified applicants for the key position of Chief of Section in Paris, France. Key Responsibilities
The role involves designing strategic initiatives and policies for UNESCO's water resource management division. The selected candidate will oversee critical areas such as freshwater science, hydrogeology, and water resource planning. The Chief of Section will also coordinate with international partners, securing resources and setting agendas to meet UNESCO’s long-term goals, especially as outlined in its Medium-term Strategy (C/4), Programme and Budget (C/5), and the IHP-IX strategic plan.
Qualifications and Experience
UNESCO is seeking candidates with an advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in freshwater sciences or environmental sciences with a specialization in hydrogeology or water resources. Additionally, the candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the field of water resource management, with at least five years in international contexts.
