The camp will be held from 9.30am to 1pm on both the days.

The vaccination camp will be held in the school premises and students will be required to come with their documents. K Dey, the principal of Sushila Birla Girls’ School, said that they had sent consent forms to parents asking if their children would be taking the vaccine against COVID-19 from the school. The vaccination camp will be held in coordination with Belle Vue and students will receive Covaxin.

The school has notified the students to come in appropriate attire to enable vaccination. Every student is requested to carry their original Aadhar card and a photocopy. In an official notification to parents, Dey said, “Students must not come for the vaccine on an empty stomach. Also, students with fever, cough and cold should not come.” Additionally, the school has requested students to register themselves on the COWIN app for hassle-free vaccination. Earlier, the camp was planned to be held on the premises of Birla High School. Later, the camp for both the schools was shifted to the address of Sushila Birla Girls’ School. “About 200 students are expected to get their shots on the first day of the camp,” added Dey.

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has already set up vaccination camps for students in government, government-aided and private schools around the city. Many students between 15 to 18 years have already taken their first shot of the vaccine. On the other hand, private schools have set up camps. Schools such as Lakhshmipat Singhania, Gokhale Memorial School, The Heritage School, Modern High School, South Point School, Mahadevi Birla World Academy, Bethune Collegiate School etc. have also tied up with city hospitals to vaccinate their students.
