Over 2,500 students attend Amity’s annual tech-fest Technicia-2022

More than 2,500 students from across India participated in Technicia, a tech-fest hosted on-campus by Amity School of Engineering and Technology at Amity University Mumbai from March 23 to 25.

A total of 28 events like Ideathon, car racing, paper presentations, besides sessions on the new normal, technology innovations, entrepreneurship and many more were held during the three-day fest.

Shrikant Charhate, chairperson and dean of academics at Amity University Mumbai welcomed the guests at the inaugural session on March 23. B Athiyaman, head of the Union ministry of earth sciences addressed students on Day-I and stressed the importance of participation in such technical festivals for students.

“Students definitely get lots of benefits from Technicia-2022 because it has diverse topics arranged for technical presentations. Our ultimate aim is that the outcome and benefit of technology innovation should reach commoners,” said Athiyaman.

Brajesh Nahar, executive head of Khopoli Operations at TATA Steel Ltd, in his address to the students, said that they should come out of their comfort zone especially after the pandemic and work for the country at large by floating innovative ideas.

 Vice-chancellor VK Sharna and pro-vice chancellor AW Santhosh Kumar also addressed the students and welcomed them post COVID-19 on campus. They also made the students realise the importance of such festivals.

Considering the overwhelming response every year, the institute has decided that Technicia will be going global in 2023 to fetch ideas from students across the world with hybrid participation of students and student entrepreneurs.
