The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the postponement of the CSIR UGC NET 2024 exam, originally scheduled for June 25 to June 27, 2024.
This news comes as a surprise to the numerous candidates who have been preparing for the crucial exam.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the postponement of the Joint CSIR UGC NET 2024 exam, originally scheduled for June 25 to June 27, 2024. This news comes as a surprise to the numerous candidates who have been preparing for the crucial exam.

The central education ministry is already under pressure due to the ongoing controversy surrounding the NEET paper leak. Following the cancellation of the UGC NET exam, the CSIR UGC NET exam, which assesses research aptitude in science subjects, has now also been postponed. NTA announced the decision on Friday, citing "unavoidable circumstances as well as logistic issues."

While the specific details of these challenges have not been disclosed, this decision has sparked questions about whether the postponement is aimed at avoiding the risk of another paper leak scandal. According to the University Grants Commission (UGC), the CSIR UGC NET exam determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, Lectureship, and Assistant Professorship positions in universities and colleges across India.

Candidates who registered for the June session of the CSIR UGC NET 2024 are advised to stay updated for the revised exam dates. The NTA's announcement did not specify a new date for the exam, advising candidates to regularly check the official website - csirnet.nta.ac.in for updates.

On June 18, the UGC NET exam was conducted in two sessions across the country, with nine lakh candidates participating. However, on June 19, the central government announced the cancellation of the exam due to issues related to its integrity. Similarly, the NEET exam has been embroiled in allegations of corruption following the release of its results. Out of the total candidates, 67 scored a perfect 100 percent, with many of them from the same examination center.

In the midst of these controversies, the NTA has once again postponed another major national exam, adding to the uncertainty faced by aspiring researchers and students.
