The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has confirmed that it will not release the answer key for the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024. This decision aligns with the official information bulletin, which states that the “NBEMS shall not entertain any request for sharing any content of the examination, including answer keys/answer sheets”.
Normalisation Method for NEET PG Result 2024
Rather, the NBEMS has adopted a result preparation process similar to that used by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi, particularly for exams conducted in multiple shifts, like the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET). Under this process, candidates' marks will be normalised and converted into percentile scores, which indicate the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or below a specific score. To reduce ties, the percentile scores will be calculated up to seven decimal places.
The normalisation process involves distributing candidates across multiple shifts to avoid bias, followed by calculating raw scores and subject-wise percentiles for each shift. The highest scorer in each shift is assigned a percentile score of 100, while other scores are converted into corresponding percentiles.
This normalisation method is designed to ensure fairness across shifts and to accurately reflect candidates’ performance relative to their peers.
NEET PG 2024 Result Announcement
As per media reports, the results for NEET PG 2024 are expected to be announced by the end of August on the official websites—natboard.edu.in and nbe.edu.in.
The NEET PG 2024 exam was conducted on August 11, after multiple delays, for admission to postgraduate medical programmes such as MD, MS, and MDS. In a first, the exam was held in two shifts, with around 2.28 lakh candidates appearing at 416 centres across 170 cities.
