JSBF inks MoUs with 9 foreign universities to facilitate exchange programmes

Jindal School of Banking & Finance (JSBF) under Jindal Global University (JGU) in Haryana’s Sonipat has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with nine foreign universities from five countries in a bid to facilitate exchange programmes and provide global exposure to its students.

According to a press communique from the institute, it has signed MoUs with institutions in Australia, the United Kingdom (UK), Canada, Germany and Israel to benefit students pursuing BCom Honours and BA Honours in Finance and Entrepreneurship.

University of Sussex,  University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University have partnered with JSBF from the UK. From Australia, Deakin University, Macquarie University and Western Sydney University have signed MoUs with the institute. The remaining three MoUs were signed with  University of New Brunswick, Canada,  Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Germany, and Reichman University/ Interdisciplinary Centre Herzliya (IDC Herzliya), Israel

Through the partnership, students will get benefits like short-term study abroad programmes, semester exchanges, postgraduate pathways, dual undergraduate degrees, dual postgraduate degrees and summer or winter training.

The tie-up with Deakin University will offer India’s first Global BCom Honours programme. Those who opt for this programme can transfer to the Australian university in their third year where they can pursue a Bachelor of Business and an MBA International programme. BCom Honours in Capital Markets is another programme that the institute will start offering in 2022 in partnership with National Stock Exchange (NSE) Academy.

C. Raj Kumar, founding vice-chancellor, JGU, said, “In addition to the currently popular BCom and the BA in Finance & Entrepreneurship programmes, the school will be launching three new programmes in 2022 – the Global BCom with Deakin University, BCom in Capital Markets with the NSE Academy, and an MSc in Behavioural Finance.”

Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, over 15 BCom students from the institute were invited to be a part of semester exchange programmes from international universities. A total of twenty two JSBF students were remotely hosted by Nottingham Trent University, UK, as a part of the summer school on financial markets and investments analysis.
