Indian Institute of Art & Design (IIAD) has organised 'UNFOLD - Graduate Show 2022' at the IIAD campus, New Delhi on Friday and Saturday. The two-day event showcases innovative exhibitions featuring the graduating batch work from four departments - Fashion Design (FD), Communication Design (CD), Interior Architecture & Design (IAD) and Fashion Business Management (FBM).
Along with that, students from the foundation year (first year), second year and third year are also showcasing their Capstone Projects and Minor Design Projects in the form of installations. The Graduate Show 2022 is a depiction of hard-work, perseverance and creative talent of IIAD students.
Speaking on the occasion Jitin Chadha, director of Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) said, "We believe that design education plays a critical role in shaping the world for a better future. This show is a major event in the college calendar, as it presents an opportunity for all graduating students to showcase their talents as they emerge from the campus environment to embark on their career.”
In her notes about the event, Usha Patel, dean academics, of Indian Institute of Art and Design(IIAD) said, "Students have pushed the boundaries, challenged the conventions and moved ahead to express themselves individually through their talent and creativity. The hard work and resilience of both the students and faculty is evident in this show."
The Graduate Show 2022 is graced by the presence of eminent chief guests including, Asha Sairam, design principal, Studio Lotus; Amardeep Behl, managing director, AB Design Habit & Co. Pvt Ltd; Rajeev Sethi, designer, Scenographer and art curator and Amit Aggarwal, fashion designer.
The exhibition is showcasing individual design journeys of the students - from inspirations, iterations, mood boards, to their final designs. The studios have been converted into unique exhibition spaces through projection mapping, audio-visual displays, art installations and performative installations. These projects are a reflection of IIAD students' design thinking process and their understanding of the world around them.
