The Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal in collaboration with the Conferderation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising an Education Symposium on Saturday, November 4 in Kolkata. The symposium is based on the theme ‘Higher education and realisation of sustainable development: Paving the way forward'.
“This year the Bengal Global Business Summit is being held on November 21-22. The conclave is being conducted as a brainstorming session before the actual session on higher education at the Bengal Global Business Summit,” said Dr Suranjan Das, Vice Chancellor of Adamas University, speaking at a press conference.
He said that the session on Higher Education to be held at the Bengal Global Business Summit will be based on the theme of sustainable development.
“This conclave also demonstrates the increasing collaboration between education and technology. One of the major aims of education policy both at the central and state level is to develop a close partnership between academic institutions and industry,” Das added.
The conclave will consist of four sessions where distinguished guests will speak on several aspects including the evolution of technology in education, International cooperation in higher education, holistic development of students and how the state can serve as a destination for educational investment.
Several educationists and academicians from various foreign countries along with industry leaders are set to attend the conclave.
The inaugural session of the conclave will also witness the signing of two MoUs:
The conclave will also witness the presence of officials from several universities and Principals of Colleges.
“Sixty-two MoUs will be signed in the field of higher education at the upcoming Bengal Global Business Summit 2023, from November 21 to November 22,” said Prof Amlan Chakrabarti, Director, AK Chaudhury School of Information Technology, University of Calcutta.
BGBS 2022 had witnessed an overwhelming response from investors with a proposed investment of Rs 560 crores in School Education and Rs 2290 crores in Higher Education. Apart from this, 23 MoUs were also signed at the summit with international organisations and foreign universities. The 2023 summit promises to be equally fruitful.
