Universities will prepare rank lists for undergraduate admissions on the basis of "normalised" scores for parity between marks and not percentile or raw marks
In case of any issue or query with the result declared, students can directly reach out to the National Testing Agency

Disappointed with the results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) and the lack of clarity over the admission process in colleges on Friday, students on social media expressed their views and confusion over their choice of college.

After the CUET results were declared, UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar on Friday said universities will prepare rank lists for undergraduate admissions on the basis of "normalised" scores for parity between marks and not percentile or raw marks. Kumar told PTI that the scores were normalised to provide a level playing field for students who wrote the exam in the same subject on different days or in different shifts.

Samriddhi Rawat (18), a resident of Delhi, is "satisfied" with her scores. She said that she got 100 percentiles in two subjects. "I want to pursue Economics Honours from Delhi University. I am hopeful that I will get into a good college," Rawat said. "We are the first batch to appear for CUET and faced many problems. There were glitches and the examination of several students got cancelled. However, I and my friend have got good marks."

Additionally, students also said that the score sheets are difficult to understand. "It is new to us. We understand percentile but normalisation of scores is very complicated. I think the whole process is complicated," Muskan Tiwari said. She is also concerned that competition will increase as scores of other aspirants are also good "It is not like only I have scored well. I read on the news that around 20,000 students have scored 100 percentile. Competition has suddenly risen," Ms Tiwari said.

The UGC Chairman had last week made an announcement that the NTA will declare the CUET-UG results by 15 September or even a couple of days earlier. These CUET UG results can be used by the candidates to get admission in different participating central universities of India.

In case of any issue or query with the result declared, students can directly reach out to the National Testing Agency on their official helpline number: 01140759000 or directly send an e-mail to cuet-ug@nta.ac.in
