Podcasts, IVRS, Tele-Counselling! CBSE Begins Annual Counselling of Class 10, 12 students

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has begun the annual psychological Counselling Session for Class 10 and 12 students to prepare them for the board examination. The counselling sessions began from January 1 and will be held through IVRS, podcasts and tele-counselling.

The board has offered a toll free IVRS facility which will be available 24x7 for the the students. Through this, the board will provide suggestions on how to be stress free during the preparation, time management along with other details.

The podcasts will be conducted in Hindi and English, and will cover various subjects. These podcasts have been aimed to provide students with a clear understanding of the subject and guidance to students during the course of the examination.

According to a Press Release by CBSE, tele counselling will be provided to the students free of cost from 9.30 AM to 5.30 pm from Monday day to Saturday. A total of 65 Principals, trained counsellors and special educators from the CBSE affiliated government and private schools and psychologists will be providing counselling to the students.

Out of the 65 counsellors, 13 will be from Kuwait, Nepal, Japan, Doha-Qatar, Oman (Muscat) and United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah and Ras-al-Khaimah).

The board has been providing counselling to the students since 1998. The counselling is provided in two phases, i.e. before the exam and after the results are declared. Over the years, the board has used platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Instagram to actively engage with students.
