The Telegraph Online Edugraph organised Skillfest 2022 to celebrate the young talents of today
The contest received numerous entries from students all over Bengal

The United Nations announced July 15 as World Youth Skills Day to celebrate the significance of equipping young people with skills for work, employment and entrepreneurship. This year The Telegraph Online Edugraph organised Skillfest 2022 to enable and empower high school students from across the state of West Bengal. This competition received an overwhelming response from students across the state, competing to win in one of the five categories.

In the photography category, students were asked to showcase their portrait photography skills, and capture a human story through the camera lens like none other. Our winner Anvi Das’s submission was truly thought-provoking. A class 8 student from BDM International School, her vision and storytelling have been much appreciated by the judges.

Edugraph caught up with Anvi after her win and here is what she had to say: “My experience was great while participating at Skillfest 2022 . I was very excited and also nervous at the same time as I'm not so professional at clicking pictures. But still with a little confidence participated and won. I am very happy and thrilled as this is a first time experience for me to win a photography competition.”

When asked about what made her click the photo she sent us, she added “this photo was suddenly clicked by me when a boy was helping his father in throwing the fish net .This caught my attention. Thus, this had a special meaning to me as the son was trying to help his father doing his work”.
