The United Nations has designated 15 July as World Youth Skill Day. To commemorate the day and celebrate the myriad talents that lay hidden within the youth of today, The Telegraph Online Edugraph conducted the Skillfest 2022 - a forum for young students to showcase their talents in 5 different categories and stand a chance to win exciting prizes.

The winner in the Entrepreneurship category is Niharika Lath, a student of class 11 from Mahadevi Birla World Academy. In this category, students had to demonstrate independence, creativity, determination, business savvy, and communication skills in pitching their idea from inception to finalisation in the form of a presentation or a deck to the judges.

When asked how she felt about her win, here’s what Niharika had to say. ‘I had done this with all my heart. All this hard work and dedication has been truly rewarded. This will keep my spirits high.’

Speaking about the thought process behind her entrepreneurship entry she said, ‘After doing a lot of research and work on this, I felt that this entry might be liked by judges too. To have our entries liked by a panel of judges helps us to remain enthusiastic and inspired for our future work assignments.’ Her entry was innovative as well as highly appropriate for the times when we are all looking for an eco-friendly solution to household problems.

Speaking about the Niharika’s win, Ms Anjana Saha, Principal, Mahadevi Birla World Academy, had the following words of encouragement: “A skilled India is a dream India and it is towards this initiative that we school principals have pledged to turn out students who are ready for a better future, a better tomorrow, with skill sets in hand. Congratulations!” She also added words of encouragement for the initiative taken by The Telegraph Online Edugraph.
