Studying Human Resource Management 

 

• You need to clear your Class XII board exams from a recognised board in any stream with English as a mandatory subject.
• You can opt for a diploma course in HRM after clearing your Class XII board exams.
• You can also do online certification courses to learn the necessary HRM skills and knowledge.
• You can go for an undergraduate degree like BBA/BA/BSc/BCom/BTech/BE.  
• After completion of your graduation, you may pursue postgraduate studies in HRM. You need a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university to pursue a master's degree or a PG diploma in HRM.
• There are two types of postgraduate degrees in HRM. You can choose HRM as an MBA specialisation after clearing MBA entrance exams and taking admission to a B-school. Or you can simply go for an MA in HRM after your bachelor’s studies.

Job roles with an HRM degree  

 

• Human resource manager: They lead recruitment teams to resolve specific HR-related problems and complete successful projects. They also ensure that project-related activities comply with business laws and company policies.

 

• Human resource consultant: They analyse a company's human resources situation and accordingly develop policies, employment structures and performance incentives for employees.

 

•  Recruitment and placement officer: They hire new employees for the company and also for specific projects. It’s their job to select candidates, interview them and negotiate salaries in collaboration with project managers and supervisors. 

 

• Training and development manager: These HR professionals assist employees through providing training and career planning sessions. Their activities range from organising new employee orientation sessions to facilitating in-person workshops for existing employees to conducting personal and professional development courses.

 

• Payroll specialist: They are in charge of all aspects of the payroll. They manage employee deductions and process payroll in accordance with the organisation's payroll schedule and salary administration policies. 

 

• Employee relations manager: They resolve conflicts among employees within an organisation. It’s their job to address employee grievances, resolve employee conflicts and assist managers in building employee relationships.
