Xinephile 2024: St.Xavier’s University Kolkata to honour 100 years of the legendary filmmaker, Mrinal Sen

Xinephile - Xavier’s University Film Society honours 100 years of the legendary filmmaker, Mrinal Sen, appreciated by National Award Winning Film Director, Sekhar Das. 

The event will be held on 27 February from 4 pm to 5 pm. It will be an intra-college event which invites students and faculty members from all departments to be a part of the screening and discussion about the explanation of ‘Bhuvan Shome’, a film directed by Mrinal Sen.

Respected dignitaries including Vice Chancellor Rev. Fr. Dr. Felix Raj alongside Prof. Asish Mitra will be seen addressing the audience. Dr. Reshmi Naskar, the Professor- in-charge of Xavier’s University Film Society shall be welcoming the audience on her part. Felicitation of Sekhar Das will be followed by the screening and shot by shot explanation of ‘Bhuvan Shome’.

The inquisitive audience shall be addressed post screening with a Q&A session. The expected footfall is 300. 

To draw a close, a vote of thanks shall be presented by the organising committee of Xavier’s University Film Society.
