Several start-ups enrolled for mentoring and pitching sessions

Have a start-up but do not know how to proceed? The Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of St. Xavier’s College Kolkata got you covered. From industry speaker sessions to personal mentoring and pitching sessions, all were part of this virtually curated event from April 7 to 9. Edugraph was the digital media partner.

Three days of non-stop learning, unlearning, improvising on the ideation and operational nuances of a start-up made way for several start-ups to be considered for future funding opportunities. Tadpole Projects Pvt Ltd, DLearners and LivNSense Technologies Pvt Ltd emerged as the top three start-ups.

Tadpole Projects Pvt Ltd, incubated under the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, is a pioneer in electric vehicles research and development. It provides affordable clean energy conveyance solutions to the masses focusing on waste management and power efficiency. The aim is to make electric vehicles without adding new vehicles to the roads.

“Tadpole Projects Pvt Ltd was founded on August 29, 2020, by me, Arun Sunny and Chaitanya Shashwat. Our key takeaways from the event are to be concise and precise in plans and to execute plans with the flexibility of letting creativity and innovation come in,” said Jawaad Khan, founder and CEO, Tadpole Projects Pvt Ltd.

DLearners is an initiative that ensures that children with Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD) are provided with a platform to help in screening and early identification of the problem so that they can be then worked upon. Addressing the Net Zero Challenge, LivNSense is an industrial artificial intelligence start-up.

A total of 28 start-ups from all over the country registered for the event and received one-on-one mentoring on April 8. Some of the mentors and investors for the event included Skannd Tyagi, founder and chief executive officer, Starshot Ventures; Mahavir Pratap Sharma, chairman and co-founder, Rajasthan Angel Innovators Network; Kruti Raiyani, head-investments, Lead Angels; to name a few. Ten start-ups qualified for the pitching round on April 9. They were given a chance to present their business models and raise funds for their innovative and creative works.

“The Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp has always aimed to leave a positive impact on the start-up ecosystem of the country. This year was no different as we recorded the highest number of start-up registrations. We definitely aim to grow the scale of the event in the upcoming years and accommodate many more startups in our event. EAC successfully provided a platform, facilitating interaction and networking among various start-up owners, mentors and investors from different parts of the country,” said Vansh Rathod, a third-year Management Studies student and joint secretary, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.
