NSHM organises AcceptUs 2022 for Hotel and Tourism Management students

On 15 and 16 September 2022, NSHM Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management, Durgapur & Kolkata invited two much known personalities from the service sector to address their students of Hotel and Tourism Management. The talk has been planned under AcceptUs 2022 which is the Orientation Program of NSHM. The 2 weeks long orientation program had many events and engagement for the students before they enter into their studies.  Ms. Avanti Basu Chattoraj who is Head of Business Development (South  Asia , Joint Venture Partner Markets) Sabre Travel Solutions - a leading Global Distribution systems and a tourism industry veteran with more than 26 years of experience. She has worked with Global Travel Experts as General Manager Business Development & Academy, prior to which she was Senior Manager Products and Training at Amadeus India. She addressed our students about the current trend of Tourism industry. She also talked about the growth and future prospects in the Tourism sector. Students were enlightened with her words full of industry experience. 

Indrajit Lahiri who is a traveller, a storyteller and he shared some stories with the students from his travels. He is also a content creator, published author, and first generation entrepreneur. He has two published books on culinary experiences and is a Litfest Panelist and has shared his experience on platforms like Joshtalks and Ted Talk. Professionally, he's an IT entrepreneur with his own IT project management firm. Mr. Lahiri started his journey of food blogging in 2014 with mohamushkil.com which has now more than 300 blogposts and is the co-founder of Foodka YT webseries on YouTube. He told our students about the growth and prospects of Hotel industry and what the industry has in store for them. He also showed various career pathways in the service industry which in the past few years this industry has been able to explore.

Present at the occasion of Prof. (Dr.) Milind, ​​Principal- NSHM Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management- Durgapur and Kolkata, highlighted “The Industry expert talk conducted by NIHTM -Durgapur and Kolkata was a part of the Orientation Schedule. The session was very informative and eye opener for all the students who have enrolled in various programs of Tourism and Hospitality. We all have experienced the new trends and opportunities in this sector. The interaction level was great with the speakers. In the future we are excited to bring some more industry experts from services industries who can enlighten the students minds with their expertise”.
