'I wish to win a gold for India in the olympics', says Prisha Bahety, 18 under 18 winner

Prisha Bahety from Mahadevi Birla World Academy, Kolkata emerged victorious in the Telegraph Online Edugraph 18 Under 18 Awards, winning the prestigious award as an All-Rounder. At just 16 years old, Prisha's achievements showcase excellence in academics and sports.

The Telegraph Online Edugraph spoke to Prisha after her win and she added “Participating in The Telegraph Online Edugraph 18 under 18 awards back to back for 2 years was a very good learning experience for me. As we compete against so many talented individuals of our age that itself is an achievement. On the final event day, listening to the chief guest Sudha Murthy maam’s speech was very inspiring. I think I took a lot back with me from the event which would help me in my future.”  added Prisha 

As a roller-skater, Prisha's journey has been nothing short of dominance. Holding the title of the undefeated state champion in roller skating for the past seven years, her talent extends beyond regional boundaries. Furthermore, she represented West Bengal and secured 1st position in Rink III, Road I and Road II in the 2nd Ranking Roller Skating Championship 2022. National-level events have also witnessed Prisha's skating skills, where she consistently secured victory

“I used to roller skate and then I shifted to pistol shooting because I want to represent my country in the olympics. At present my main aim is to win a gold for India in the olympics. Academically, in the long term I want to do MBA and after my class 12 I wish to pursue Economics Hons from a good college” Prisha signs off. 

A Brown Belt in karate, she showcases discipline and martial arts proficiency. Additionally, her accomplishments extend to the epitome of pistol shooting, where she has earned the titles of state and zonal champion. She represented West Bengal in the CBSE  National Championships and the National Rifle Association of India Championship. She has also won a silver medal at the Air Pistol (NR) Championship 10M Sub Youth Women (Individual) in the 6th East Zone Shooting Championship in the year 2022. Boasting of another feature in her hat Prisha also stood 1st in the 67th West Bengal State School Games 2023 in U-19 girls category. Prisha's journey reflects not just excellence but a relentless pursuit of mastery across various disciplines.
